Craig Seldin Attorney at law

Craig Seldin is a lawyer who brings a uniquely broad, multi-disciplinary approach to the private practice of law.  He currently conducts a private practice in Houston, in which he occasionally associates with other attorneys on some cases. While he employs a regular staff of support personnel, sometimes contract paralegals are brought in for complex litigation.  He has also practiced successfully in Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Seldin’s practice is a throwback to the general practitioner of previous times, who was able to offer to the client advice and representation in many areas of law. In the modern era of specialization, it is difficult to find general practitioners who are capable of handling a multitude of practice fields. Craig Seldin has represented and advised clients in such areas as plaintiff’s civil litigation (personal injury, product liability, deceptive trade practices), contracts, torts, real estate, commercial law, construction law, bankruptcy, business entity formation, family law, and criminal defense. The value to the client is that knowledge in other fields can greatly increase the quality of representation of a client in a certain field. For example, knowledge of bankruptcy law assists attorneys doing collection work, as they can advise their client on how bankruptcy can affect a collection.

Craig Seldin’s wide-ranging practice is derived from his education, in which he studied at a variety of national recognized universities. During his two years at Northwestern University where he began his collegiate education, he developed an interest in European History. Whereas most history students concentrated on one period, Craig Seldin took courses pertaining to different countries and to different time periods. His relentless study of history was continued at the University of California at Berkeley, where he continued to take courses in other areas, such as Asian history. He maintained an A average at both universities. Following graduation, he attended the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, where he again took coursework across the entire spectrum of law, i.e, corporate law, international law, commercial law, federal procedure, criminal procedure, and securities regulation. His scholarly abilities and interests led him to apply for the famous Rhodes Scholarship for study at Oxford University in England, He was selected by the University of Texas to be its representative in the annual competition in 1975.

Craig Seldin has applied this scholarly approach to his current law practice in Houston, where he accesses two major legal research bases to enable him to provide his clients with up to date information in diverse fields. He holds licenses to practice in the Northern and Southern Federal District Courts of Texas. He obtained a notable judgment in the Southern District that was recorded in the national publication Verdict Search.
